
Brief Snippet of Their Story
The first writer of the family, a second generation Cuban-American citizen, and 29th first generation grandchild of the Filipino Egana clan, they are an American author of magical realism poetry and flash fiction. Amalia graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Masters' in English Creative writing. Their flash fiction "Sold" was published in issue 31 of Cypress Dome. Having wandered the panhandle and pockets of the Philippines, many pieces of poetry and writing reflect their experiences in these locations with love and pride. Aside from writing, Amalia enjoys exploring various fields in art such as painting, cooking, miscellaneous crafts and photography.
